Taylor Regional accepts all health insurances. If your hospitalization is not covered by insurance or if your insurance coverage is minimal, you may be asked to pay a deposit upon admission. The balance of your hospital expenses above your deposit and/or confirmed insurance coverage will be payable upon discharge unless other suitable financial arrangements are made with our financial counseling office. You may also have a financial counselor visit you while you are a patient in the hospital.
The Patient Accounting Office will bill your insurance carrier for you. The hospital will also file multiple insurances for you if you have more than one policy. However, we do hold assignment of insurance benefits on all claims filed as long as you have an outstanding balance. This includes disability and supplemental types of insurance plans. Refunds of overpayments are sent to you after all account balances are paid in full. In the event we do not have all of your insurance information, please notify us as soon as possible.
For your convenience, the hospital also honors VISA, MasterCard, American Express and the Discover Card. All payments by debit or credit card can be made over the phone. The office is open from 8:30 am until 5 pm, Monday through Thursday and 8:00 am until 4pm on Friday.
After you are discharged from the hospital, you will receive the final bill for your hospital stay. This statement will reflect any outstanding balance on your account. Upon your request, we will provide you with an itemized statement.
If you are admitted under the Medicare plan, you will be responsible for the deductible, co-insurance and non-covered items.
If you are admitted under the Medicaid/Georgia Better Healthcare plan, you must present a valid Medicaid card.
Your hospital bill does not include professional fees which include but are not limited to the following Anesthesia, Hospitalist, ER physician, Radiologist and Surgeon. These physicians are independent contractors and you will receive a separate bill from them for their services.
Taylor Regional seeks to treat all patients equitably, with dignity, respect and compassion. To this end, and in understanding that not all patients are able to pay their hospital bills due to financial considerations including financial hardship due to medical misfortune, Taylor Regional will assist those who cannot pay for all or part of their care by extending Financial Assistance to qualifying patients. Taylor Regional will provide free care and discounted Financial Assistance in keeping with the Policy described below. In order for Taylor Regional to apply this Policy fairly and consistently, patients and their families have a duty to provide appropriate and timely information that will help Taylor Regional qualify them for the appropriate level or type of Financial Assistance given their specific circumstances.
